Next week we will be the at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in NYC. Our work will be the featured piece in the show’s main lounge. The project was collaborative effort between International Stone Collections, Nicole Fuller Interiors, and Creative Edge.
International Stone Collections craft a massive stone bar made of Victoria White, a rare import from Sierra Leone. A free flowing chain pattern comprised of Nero Marquina and Bardiglio stones designed by Nicole Fuller Interiors and cut by Creative Edge is intricately inlayed within the stone. The fixture sits atop an up-cycled wood base, reclaimed from a water tower in Brooklyn by Manhattan Forest Products.
Check out the video put together by International Stone Collections for a sneak peak of the final product.

For this project in Florida I consulted with a stone and tile showroom in tandem with the customer’s interior designer to create a custom integrated first floor plan. The process entailed inlaying our designs to flow through a formal foyer linking it to the master suite entrance .
This luxury home project is a good example of how our designs can enhance the definition of large spaces and connect to smaller spaces to lend a feeling of character and intimacy.
Working closely with Creative Edge Master Shop, the manufactuer, Harri Aalto, Chief designer for Aalto Designs, the sister company to Creative Edge, designed elegant flooring to successfully fulfill the showroom, interior designer and client’s vision.

We were all very pleased with the final product .
As an added benefit, we custom cut the field stone to perfect the fitting of our floor accent designs, which included borders, medallion and accent embellishments. This service is complimentary with most of our projects.
On any project we are happy to provide the field stone or custom waterjet cut the owners field stone depending on the customers preference.
Terrazzo has been the recipient of incredible breakthroughs in technology. Using Epoxy as a base allows for brighter colors, a thinner base material, and the ability to add an array of various and unconventional aggregates. The one thing technology has not answered is how to keep 2 (or more), different colors separate without using an often unwanted, metal strip.
Designers are the ones having the most fun with Terrazzo. It’s not just the bright colors which stimulates their creativity. The dreaded grid pattern which is ubiquitous with tile, will not be an issue with hindering their unique design. The biggest challenge remains not creating a design that is going to be EXTREMELY time consuming and not to mention sky-high priced.
Bright Colors and reflective chips
Owners are starting to love it, too. Easy maintenance and incredibly durability are just a few of its attributes, however, they won’t pay an arm and a leg at the whim of some designer.
“So what does all of this have to do with waterjet”?
Excellent question. And an even more excellent answer……..still to come.
Waterjet fabrication is a relatively new process and has been at the heart of everything that Creative Edge Master Shop has produced since 1988. Furthermore, we have always been the innovators in this architecturally decorative process. In the early 1990′s, when most architects and interior designers had never even heard of this process, we were producing…
Every so often a project comes along that is just so epic that we can’t help ourselves from feeling some pride. This palatial home in New Jersey is one of those projects. Every corner of this amazing home oozes luxury. We had the great pleasure of working with the developer, Kevo Homes, to put our classic touch…
We wanted to send out a little reminder to all of our flooring friends. It is the season now to keep your ears to the ground for any school renovations or new builds. We are in your corner again this year and we want to help you grow your business. Did someone say new logo?…
The advantages of using waterjet fabrication for your projects extend far beyond making beautiful and intricate floors. The high pressure stream of water mixed with garnet sand allows for cutting a wide variety of materials. Materials that are traditionally difficult to work with are now available in the pallet, expanding the reach of the designer’s…
We are working on the 2011 edition of the Creative Edge Starnet IdeaBook. We will be taking orders for the book at the Starnet membership meeting this April in Phoenix. We would love to hear your feedback on how our first IdeaBook has worked for you. This is your book, your sales tool. Is…
This project was a real treat for us. The St. Louis Muny, the oldest and largest outdoor musical theatre in the US, is the home of one of our favorite terrazzo projects. With Missouri Terrazzo heading up the job, we helped to recreate the box office’s approximately 20′x30′ terrazzo floor, which had been damaged by burst…
